On the recipes tab there are several action buttons that enable you to take a variety of actions with the menu. This topic introduces those actions but more detail will be available in the on-line help for the menu details page.
Note that, if you open a recipe from the Set cookbook, some of these buttons will not be present, such as the Delete and Save buttons.
In addition to the buttons, there is also a box to enter the number of covers. This box is repeated on the Cost Analysis tab. Its purpose is crucial to the correct calculation of two areas:
Changing the value on either the Recipes tab or the Cost Analysis tab will immediately be reflected on the other tab.
Whenever you make any change to any of the information within the boxes on any of the menu sections, this button will turn red, as shown. Also, a red banner will appear across the top of the page. These remind you that you MUST click Save if you want to make the changes you have made permanent. Until you do so, the changes are only present on the screen and have not been stored. If you move to another page without clicking Save, those changes will be lost and the menu's details will revert to their original values.
Clicking this button will begin the process of entering a new menu. If
you have several menus to enter this is a shortcut to avoid having to go
back to the main menus page every time.
WARNING: If you have any
unsaved changes when you click the New button, they will be lost.
When you click this button you are asked to confirm that you want to
delete the menu. If you click OK then the system will delete it.
WARNING: There is no "undelete"
option; once it has been deleted, it is gone.
The duplicate action will take a copy of the current menu and place it into your cookbook's "default" folder. To help you identify it, the text "(DUP)" is added to the menu's title.
This feature is useful in two main ways:
As its name suggest, this button prepares the menu's details in a format suitable for printing.
The printable page has options on it to hide or show the evaluation, the recipe photos and the recipe prices before actually committing the menu to the printer.
