Recipe tools.

In the previous topics we have discussed, in detail, how recipes are entered into the system and stored in your cookbook. Each of the sections on the recipe details page has been covered.

There are several very useful tools that enable you to manipulate your recipes in various ways, to automate occasional, tedious tasks and to allow you to keep track of your cookbook recipe records.

These tools, which are described in subsequent topics, are:

• Replace ingredient - replace one ingredient with another throughout your recipes.
• Bulk price change - review and update your recipe prices and margins.
• Compare nutrition - review and compare the nutritional content of many recipes.
• Merge recipes - combine two or more recipes into a single recipe.
• Food category assignments report - check which recipes have which food categories assigned to them

The first three of these tools are accessible via options on the Recipes main menu, the fourth is an option on the recipes selection page and the final tool is under the Reports main menu.

Once the "spade work" of entering your recipes into the system has been completed, these tools really start to make the effort repay itself many times over.
