The recipe ingredients tab action buttons.

On the ingredients tab there are several action buttons that enable you to take a variety of actions with the recipe. This topic introduces those actions but more detail will be available in the on-line help for the recipe details page.

Note that, if you open a recipe from the Set cookbook, some of these buttons will not be present, such as the Delete and Save buttons.

Save button

Whenever you make any change to any of the information within the boxes on any of the recipe sections, this button will turn red, as shown. Also, a red banner will appear across the top of the page. These remind you that you MUST click Save if you want to make the changes you have made permanent. Until you do so, the changes are only present on the screen and have not been stored. If you move to another page without clicking Save, those changes will be lost and the recipe's details will revert to their original values.

New button

Clicking this button will begin the process of entering a new recipe. If you have several recipes to enter this is a shortcut to avoid having to go back to the main recipes page every time.
WARNING: If you have any unsaved changes when you click the New button, they will be lost.

Delete button

When you click this button you are asked to confirm that you want to delete the recipe. If you click OK then the system will attempt to delete it. If the recipe is referred to in a menu the deletion will NOT succeed and you will be informed of the reason.
WARNING: There is no "undelete" option; once it has been deleted, it is gone.

Duplicate button

The duplicate action will take a copy of the current recipe and place it into your cookbook's "default" folder. To help you identify it, the text "(DUP)" is added to the recipe's name.

This feature is useful in two main ways:

• If you have two or more recipes to enter that are very similar where there is, perhaps, only one ingredient difference you can enter the first recipe, duplicate it, rename it and replace the different ingredient. Now you have two recipes with very little extra effort.
• If you see a recipe from the Set cookbook that you like but you would like to alter it slightly, or you want to add your own pricing to it, you can duplicate the Set recipe into your own cookbook, whereupon it is yours to do with as you please.

Print button

As its name suggest, this button prepares the recipe's details in a format suitable for printing. As well as the ingredient and preparation details, the print also includes a basic nutrient label and can optionally show the full nutritional evaluation chart. If the recipe has an attached photo, this can also be included on the print.

Make ingredient button

Sometimes a caterer will have a recipe for making up something that will eventually be used as an ingredient in another recipe; mayonnaise or bread rolls perhaps. This button will create a new ingredient in your cookbook that has the nutritional content of the recipe. Hence it can then be used in other recipes as an ingredient.
